Starting Strength by Mark Rippetoe

I recently bought a copy of Mark Rippetoe's book Starting Strength. It is written from the position of how to coach various lifts. The detail and years of experience poured into piece of work is inspiring.

The book is also filled with great quotes and wit. Here is a quote I have come to really like:

"A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, and die galantly.

Specialization is for insects."

- Robert Heinlein

Anyone who is serious about training seriously should own this book.

I haven't been able to find it locally. Did you mail order it? Mark has had some good articles in CrossFit Journal. Here's an interview where he shares some of his background:
